After narrowly surviving California’s deadliest wildfire, two longtime friends navigate life in the wake of disaster – one with dreams of gold, the other with hope for his community. Evoking and challenging tropes of old Westerns, Nothing Gold Can Stay explores the effects of climate change by offering an intimate glimpse into a rural community reemerging from the ashes of tragedy.
