We’re a two-time Emmy Award winning filmmaking duo based in San Francisco, California. We specialize in character-driven filmmaking,
We both started our careers as photojournalists. Erin Brethauer worked at the Citizen-Times in Asheville North Carolina where she was recognized as a Magenta Flash Forward Emerging Photographer and her work was featured in places like The New Yorker and Photo District News. Tim Hussin worked at National Geographic and MediaStorm before setting out on a two-year bicycle trip across the country with his brother, Noah, filming alternative living in the south for their film, America Recycled (2016).
In 2015 we started working together at the San Francisco Chronicle, where we co-produced a weekly video column called The Regulars and co-directed the Chronicle's first feature-length documentary film, Last Men Standing, about long-term HIV/AIDS survivors. The film premiered at the historic Castro Theatre in San Francisco and has toured festivals worldwide.
We were 2020 SFFILM's FilmHouse residents and are currently in production on a feature-length documentary film, Nothing Gold Can Stay.
We bring documentary sensibilities and cinematic storytelling to our commercial clients.
Drop us a line.
